Adding to what is already a top-flight line-up of entertainment – including the likes of O.A.R., Collective Soul and Reverend Run of RUN-D.M.C. – The Thunderbirds announced the addition of three premier local cover bands to finalize the entertainment billing for the 2010 Coors Light Birds Nest.
Local favorites The Chadwicks will be making their fifth appearance at the Nest while Static and Champagne Tap will be performing for a second straight year. The complete schedule of entertainment is listed below.
Champagne Tap, whose members include three local doctors (an orthopedic surgeon, pediatrician and an internist), will be opening for Collective Soul on Thursday, Feb. 25. The band burst onto the local scene three years ago with their high energy mix of classic and alternative rock, covering everything from Aerosmith and Alice in Chains to Led Zeppelin and ZZ Top.
Performing on Friday, Feb. 26, The Chadwicks are in their 16th year of entertaining Valley music fans with their covers of Green Day, Matchbox 20, Beastie Boys, Weezer and The Rolling Stones, among many others.
Joining The Chadwicks on Friday, Feb. 26, Static will perform covers from today’s most popular Top 40 Pop/Dance artists, including Black Eyed Peas, Lady Ga Ga, Beyonce, Usher and Rihanna, as well as yesterday’s classics ranging from Wild Cherry to Michael Jackson.
Tickets for the 2010 Coors Light Birds Nest are on sale now through Ticketmaster (800-745-3000, www.ticketmaster.com and all Ticketmaster outlet locations). General admission tickets are $25 for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. General Admission tickets for Saturday are $35 in advance, $40 the day of the show available only at the Birds Nest ticket office and Birds Nest ticket sales booths located throughout the TPC Scottsdale golf course.
VIP tickets are $175, which includes exclusive access to the Ketel One Vodka VIP area. VIP guests are treated to a complimentary catered dinner provided by Sushi Roku, complimentary drinks and access to a premium viewing area for the show.
The Coors Light Birds Nest is a non-profit fundraising event with all proceeds benefitting Arizona charities.
The entertainment venue is located directly across from the main Waste Management Phoenix Open tournament entrance at 82nd Street and Bell Road and is open from 3:30 pm to 10 pm Wednesday, February 24 – Saturday, February 27. Opening acts will take the stage each evening at approximately 6 pm. The Coors Light Birds Nest is a 21-and-over venue.
